Bat Walk

All ages welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult at all times

Join us for a guided walk to discover these magical creatures of the night in their natural habitat.

We will have bat detectors for you to use and the Park Ranger will be on hand to help identify the bats that we see and explain their important role in the biodiversity of our green spaces.

Bookings should include all adults and children attending

Join us and Bring your Baby to our Pilates Class.  In this one hour session you will get to reap the benefits of Strengthening Muscles, Re-aligning your Posture and Increasing your Flexibility.  The best part is baby gets to be at your side during the session.  Pilates is so popular because it really works to give you the results you need.


Fungi Walk

Come and Join our fungi guide and discover the variety of toadstools and mushrooms in our green spaces. You may be surprised at the number of different species you can come across, once you take a close look.


Get Set Sail

We aim to give people with a disability, their families and carers the opportunity to enjoy a safe and pleasurable experience of sailing at Bury lake.

It’s the perfect way to feel tranquility and freedom on the water.

Each boat and katakanu are specially designed to help support those with a disability and the CVSS offer full assistance with getting in and out of the boats and full sailing safety to make your experience as enjoyable as possible.

You will sail with a CVSS sailing buddy. A hoist is available on request.

Introduction to Skateboarding For Adults

Our lessons are designed for any adult that wishes to learn some of the basic techniques of skateboarding from how to stand on your board and push along, to how to turn and how to slow down. The lessons are designed to be in a relaxed and friendly environment with the emphasis on fun as well as learning.

A history walk and guided tour of the Leavesden Asylum and Hospitals grounds.

Join Martin Brooks, Founder of Leavesden Hospital History Association, in a guided walk through the grounds of Leavesden Country Park. Learn about the fascinating history of the hospitals that once filled the grounds of the park and played such an important role in the treatment of mental health and in the Leavesden community.

Moving Mums - Bring Baby Yoga

Bring your baby to lay on a mat beside you while you lengthen, strengthen and relieve your mind of stress. This is a postnatal specific Hatha Yoga class and is one hour long. It finishes with a lovely bit of relaxation at the end. A class designed to help you restore and heal.

Smartphone & Digital Photography Walks

Join us and get creative on one of our popular photography walks!

You will be accompanied by Pete, our professional photographer and friendly guides, taking in the scenery at a relaxed pace. Using your Smartphone, tablet or digital camera, you can pick up tips on how to capture some amazing photos, which will feature in our online gallery afterwards and be entered into our ‘best snap’ competition. No experience is necessary and everyone is welcome!


Leavesden Country Park - this walk uses pathways, so it is suitable for wheelchair users.

Chorleywood House Grounds - please note due to the terrain, this walk is not suitable for wheelchair users.

The walks are suitable for people of all ages,  however, children under the age of 11 must be booked on with a paying adult.

Swimming After Stroke

Swimming after a Stroke is an opportunity to participate in specific water therapy exercises and practice your swimming with fellow stroke survivors. The classes are instructed by a fully qualified swimming and aquatic therapy instructor in a relaxed atmosphere.

The therapeutic properties of the water help to support the body by using the buoyancy and resistance of the water to move your body and build your muscular strength. The aim is to improve quality of your body’s movement and improve your strength and balance.


Tai Chi in the Park

Tai Chi is an ancient form of exercise that strengthens the body,relaxes the mind and lifts the spirit through combining deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements.  including better balance and improved fitness. 
Tai Chi and Meditation are great tools to improve individual health and well-being for all ages. These teachings can be learned and integrated into everyday life, helping to relieve stress, attain balance and promote self-confidence.


N.B.  Sessions may get cancelled in bad weather.



Yoga in the Park

Stones Orchard and Rickmansworth Aquadrome 

Vinyasa flow - this flow yoga class will be made up of physical practice as well as meditation and breath work. Being able to practice yoga  in our beautiful parks and open spaces  outdoors will allow you to feel calm and connect with nature and release any tension through a series of yoga poses aimed at increasing flexibility and building strength.

Leavesden Country Park  

Traditional Hatha Yoga with a focus on bringing balance to the body and mind.  Through breathing, creating strength, energy & flexibility. Suitable for all abilities.
